A Passive House in Reggio Emilia, Italy

passive house institute logo istituto case passiveEmu architects has just started the design for a residential building to be built in Cavriago, near Reggio Emilia. We will be pursuing Passive House certification, issued by the Passivhaus Institut in Darmstadt, Germany.

Still in the preliminary stages, this project will be part of the subdivision under construction in Pratonera, and will be part of the expansion of Cavriago in a southerly direction towards the road that connects Reggio Emilia to Montecchio.

The type of intervention, as well as the size and orientation of the lot, make the project particularly suitable for passive design. For more information about the Passive House movement, please see our previous post about the 2011 Passive House International Conference.

You can also look forward to many future posts on the subject of passive house design as we move forward with our project.
