We are pleased to announce that Emu Architects’ very own Enrico Bonilauri has officially become a Certified Passivhaus Designer, after having passed the Passivhaus Institut exam in December 2012.
This prestigious and internationally recognized professional certification is, without a doubt, a very important step in our continued education.
The full list of ‘Passivhaus Planer’ (Certified Passivhaus Designers) is published in an international database, where you can find ‘Enrico Bonilauri’ added to the short list for the Emilia Romagna region of Italy. We are the first Certifed Passivhaus Designer in the province of Reggio Emilia.
This happy news arrives with a quite busy month: in April we also had the groundbreaking on our CasaClima certified house in Albinea, and this month we will be presenting a preliminary concept design for a Passivhaus in Canossa. As architects, we understand all too well that our responsibilities stretch past the initial passive design. We have to defend our projects from the concept phase through completion against all kinds of external forces: administrative constraints, neighbors, the economic crisis, surprises on the construction site, and various other disasters. The final certificate is proof of a job well done.
In the construction industry, it would be naive to think that a professional recognition like this should conclude one’s vocational training.
The constant development of seismic standards, acoustic requirements, energy efficiency techniques, work site safety rules, and more requires an application of continuing education that ends only with leaving the occupation itself.
We will never stop learning and gaining experience.
