This summer, according to Paul Gipe’s newsletter from Wind-Works.org, Italy surpassed Spain and Japan to become the second place country in the competition for installed PV capacity.
Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) shows that as of July, Italy has almost a quarter of a million systems producing over 7000 MW.

Yesterday Italy’s ‘Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) published their report on the installation of new photovoltaic plants in Italy. The data indicated a growth in installations well beyond industry expectations – 160% compared to 2009 – amounting to three times the amount installed in the entire United States in the same year.
