It is with deep joy that we report here the results of the referendum that just finished today in Italy.
With the highest voter turnout in the last 15 years (for a referendum), the Italian People decided to cancel decisions made by the Berlusconi Government, which now seems even closer to imploding.

The draft of the ‘Quarto Conto Energia’ (Fourth Energy Bill) was approved by the Council of Ministers this week. The bill replaces the ‘Terzo Conto Energia’ (Third Energy Bill) instead of extending until August 31, which was what had been anticipated. The new bill will govern photovoltaic systems installed in Italy from June 1, 2011. More

The Italian GSE, ‘Gestore Servizi Energetica’ (Energy Services Manager), has just published a report for their 2009 data. The document’s release is downloadable in Italian from their website (Dati e Pubblicazioni Informative). According to the report, 2009 saw an increase of installed power of +11% over 2008 (26,500 MW), and an increase in the total output of +19% (69,300 GWh). More
